Working across all University sites, main duties for the role will include; patrolling University grounds and properties, responding to incidents and alarms and implementing crime prevention measures in consultation with the Security management team. You will be required to work in the Security control room operating CCTV equipment, provide detailed, accurate written reports and carry out duties in accordance with the Universities traffic control regulations to control car parking and traffic flow.
Candidates should have substantial experience of working in a similar customer facing role, have the ability to record and analyse information and be able to produce accurate written reports. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills and have the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Due to the frequency with which the successful candidate will drive between university sites a full, current driving licence is essential for this role. Experience of working in a similar security role is desirable.

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours per week), made up of rotational shifts (12 hour shifts through a 24-hour period) flexibility to work any shift is required. Job share arrangements may be considered for this post.

Please note that the salary advertised is based on a basic salary of £24,727 - £27,720 per annum, PLUS shift allowance which is subject to change. Shift allowance is only applied to specific roles within the University and therefore will not be carried forward to any additional roles undertaken at the University where this allowance does not apply.
