Senior Planning & Service Development Manager
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual to join the Planning Team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. Working as part of the planning team, the post holder will provide vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the strategic service planning agenda, providing expertise to support Divisions in their work to plan, redesign, and modernise services. They will take the lead in providing system and data modelling to support service development, looking to ensure intelligence-led service planning that supports teams in understanding whole system impact.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Provide lead service planning support to the Health Board Divisions, facilitating delivery of key and specific areas of Division service plans aimed at improving service provision across the 'whole system', from primary and community care to secondary and specialised services.
Be a senior manager within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) and will be a senior member of the Corporate Planning Team. Working, as required, with other Planning Team members, Divisional Directors, Divisional General Managers, and other senior managers and clinicians.
The post holder will provide the best practice proactive and technical planning advice and support to the organisation on service plans, strategies, and service development approaches.
Lead specific projects and plans necessary to develop and deliver new service models and provide support for the Health Board's strategic plans.

Job responsibilities
Lead and manage a specific portfolio of work streams/projects and/or service planning initiatives, such as a service model review or exploring and supporting productivity and efficiency opportunities.
To represent the Planning Division in the relevant Division or Corporate department relating to designated integrated Medium Term Plans ensuring that the service planning function is proactive and influential in its contribution to the Health Board's strategic and operational objectives.
Lead on specific developments which improve the planning skills and capability across the Health Board, including the development of planning resources in an easily understood format, encouraging and supporting their proactive use by all appropriate staff within the organisation.
Provide direct support to key lead staff at a Division level, for example, General Managers, Directorate Managers, and Directors, in the planning and redesign work associated with the post lead responsibilities.
Assist healthcare professionals to use service planning and development methodologies and techniques to gain the maximum benefit from operational processes.
Lead on current and future developments in service planning and development, which support the delivery of services in line with agreed policy, strategy, and standards.
To demonstrate a high standard of professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness in the delivery of service planning support, ensuring that activity is fully aligned to the business of the Health Board.
To support the Planning Division in ensuring the spread and facilitation of a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence across the organisation.
