Job Title: D&A Microservices Support Specialist

Salary: £50,000+ depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* Act as the technical lead providing support expertise across the Microservices product range to all consumers utilising it. Providing technical leadership and support, industry best practice and deliver value on the Microservices products. There is also some focus on developing and promoting new, key functionality in the product for expanded use across BAE Systems.
* Manage and challenge where appropriate internal and external suppliers to achieve agreed service levels and quality standards. Demonstrating advanced problem-solving capability, working with developers to perform problem management and incident management in relation to Microservices related issues.
* Monitor and maintain Microservices service activities, including general administration, performing application maintenance and product faults. Lead on upgrades for Microservices products in line with BAE Systems requirements.
* Support the architects & development teams with future Microservices deliverables ensuring seamless product transition into service.
* Document critical skills relating to the use of Microservices for other department staff and enhance the full spectrum of internal developers’ skill range.
* Work closely with other key enablers (IM&T) and standard setters (Shared Services D&A Architecture team) to adhere to the BAE Systems relevant IT Policy, Operational and Governance framework.
Your skills and experiences:
* Data Engineering experience & knowledge in relation to problem-solving data related issues.
* Good knowledge and understanding of MSSQL / SQL, writing queries using multiple tables, and interpreting results.
* Proven knowledge and understanding of front-end frameworks, such as VueJS and React.
* Knowledge and understanding of back-end frameworks, such as Node and .Net.
* Good communication skills – able to quickly understand and feedback best practice into proposed solutions and wider content.
* Proven knowledge and experience of web development programming languages such as VueJS, React, and Typescript.
* Good knowledge and experience of unit testing and testing frameworks, such as Jest and Cypress.
* Knowledge of web development CI/CD release pipelines, IDEs, Git, and/or Docker.
* Knowledge of architectural standards such as RESTful API.
* Experience of working within an ITIL service environment.

The team is focused on the delivery, support, and maintenance of the Microservices service across BAE Systems.
As a Microservices Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering value to the customer base, providing technical support and adhering to industry best practices on all Microservices products used across the service.
