Offshore Wind Health & Safety Specialist
Join a leading renewable energy company and play a vital role in driving Zero Harm ambitions across an extensive Offshore Wind portfolio, from development to operations and maintenance.
As part of the Offshore Wind & Ireland H&S team, you'll ensure safety is embedded by design in early project phases while overseeing high-risk activities such as construction, operations, and maintenance. You’ll also lead incident learning and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure teams remain safe at all times.
You’ll work across multiple teams and technologies, partnering with H&S colleagues and corporate safety teams to share best practices and elevate safety standards across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing

Key Responsibilities:
✔ Lead by example - champion safe working practices and high HSE standards
✔ Shape culture - promote accountability and behavioural change in H&S
✔ Develop & implement robust safety systems and procedures
✔ Monitor & improve - audit, assess, and drive continual improvement
✔ Collaborate & engage - work across teams, industry forums & communities
✔ Support & train - advise on best practices, regulations & emergency planning
What You Need to Succeed
You’ll have experience managing health and safety functions within project development and operational/multi-site environments.
Qualifications & Experience:
✅ NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)
✅ Experience in engineering, construction, or offshore wind (desirable)
✅ Knowledge of high-voltage equipment, switching, and offshore operations (desirable)
✅ Chartered membership of IOSH (or working towards CMIOSH status)
✅ GWO training/certificates (desirable)
✅ Ability to work at heights (desirable)
Technical Skills:
🔹 Strong knowledge of UK & Ireland H&S legislation and best practices
🔹 Effective communicator—both written and verbal, with coaching/training experience
🔹 Ability to undertake offshore survival training and work on offshore assets
🔹 Skilled in risk assessment across various qualitative areas
🔹 Competent in conducting detailed incident investigations and providing robust recommendations
🔹 Strong prioritisation skills to meet tight deadlines while working flexibly in a team environment
🔹 Adaptability to different situations, including high-pressure scenarios
🔹 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
