Senior Construction Manager (Hospital Refurbishment Project) Location: HOMERTON HOSPITAL Shift Hours: 8-Hour Shifts (Between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with potential shift variations to 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM as the project progresses) Contract Type: Full-time About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a high-profile hospital refurbishment project. This is a critical role, responsible for managing the execution of the construction activities, ensuring that the project meets its deadlines, budgets, and quality standards. As the Senior Construction Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring a safe and efficient working environment, while leading a dedicated team through all stages of construction. Key Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Lead and manage the entire refurbishment project, ensuring that all construction work is completed to the highest standard and within the allocated timeframes. Team Leadership: Supervise and manage subcontractors, site personnel, and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure efficient collaboration across teams, fostering a proactive and solutions-oriented culture. Health and Safety: Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations and promoting a zero-incident work environment. Fit-Out Expertise: Oversee and provide expert guidance on fit-out procedures, including installation of interior elements like ceilings, partitions, flooring, MEP systems, and finishes. Ensure the timely and accurate execution of these works. Quality Assurance: Monitor quality control across all stages of the project, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to the project specifications and building codes. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including the client, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. Provide regular updates on project progress and resolve any issues that arise. Scheduling & Resource Management: Coordinate the scheduling of work to ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations while maintaining overall project timelines. This includes planning for potential shift changes (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM). Technology & Reporting: Utilize field management software (specifically FieldView) to track project progress, document site activities, and generate reports. Use the platform to facilitate communication and workflow across all project phases. Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience as a Senior Construction Manager or Project Manager, ideally with experience in hospital or healthcare facility refurbishments. Strong expertise in fit-out procedures, including detailed knowledge of hospital-specific requirements such as sterile areas, infection control, and critical infrastructure systems. In-depth understanding of construction processes, project scheduling, cost management, and quality control. Experience with FieldView or similar field management software for tracking construction progress and reporting. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team and collaborate with stakeholders. Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry, particularly in healthcare environments. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and efficiency. Desirable Qualifications: A relevant degree or qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
