Job summary 0.6 wte permanent band 7 Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist in Oncology and Haematology Psychology Services An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new specialist clinical or counselling psychologist role within the adult Cancer & Haematology Psychology & Psychotherapy Services at UCLH. This is a permanent post within a large, established, friendly and supportive team of psychologists and psychotherapists working across haematology, cancer and oncology services. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic clinician who has previous clinical health psychology experience and is particularly interested in the opportunity to work as part of a variety of multidisciplinary and multiprofessional teams. This post will involve providing inpatient and outpatient input to adults with an oncology or haematology diagnosis, alongside supporting the consultation, supervision, reflective practice and training of non-psychologists within the Division. Supervision and management will be provided by one of the experienced senior psychologists within the psychology team and there will be opportunities to link and work alongside other psychologists and psychotherapists working in other medical specialities within UCLH. Links with university psychology training courses are strong and clinicians within the team are encouraged to actively engage in research and to continue their ongoing professional development as part of their roles. Main duties of the job All applicants must have:o clinical skills using at least two different therapeutic approacheso completed doctoral level training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Societyo registration as a practitioner psychologist within the HCPCApplications from experienced and newly qualified clinical or counselling psychologists are welcomed.Interviews for this post will be held in person in February 2025. This clinical/counselling psychologist role will involve clinical work with individuals and groups adjusting to and managing the impact of a cancer or haematology diagnosis and medical treatment. Alongside this direct clinical work, the postholder will also be involved in consultation, supervision, training and leadership work and will attend regular multidisciplinary and treatment planning meetings. The preferred schedule for this role is 9am-5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The majority of the work for this role will happen on-site in the UCH Macmillan Cancer Centre and University College Hospital.
