We are recruiting for a National Quality Lead for Pharmacy based within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). Our new National Quality Lead will develop and champion best practice by ensuring continuous improvement through the implementation of quality risk management systems in NHS Wales medicines manufacturing, preparation and supply. This post is a senior leadership role within the new TrAMs service, as well as the senior accountable professional for the quality of the medicines manufacture activities to be undertaken. In the interim period the post-holder will also continue to provide and oversee Quality Assurance functions to the Health Boards and Trusts and inform relevant Chief Pharmacist accordingly by auditing preparation and manufacturing facilities across NHS Wales. You will already be a credible figure nationally in the field of Quality Assurance/Quality Control and have a proven record of communicating and engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. To provide professional leadership for the operational Quality Assurance and Quality Control Leads within the hubs and legacy services. To lead, sustain and develop the Quality Service, to provide strategic direction of expert advice on all aspects of the quality of medicinal products purchased, manufactured or prepared in Wales. To maintain a centre of excellence in the field of quality assurance of pharmaceuticals. Audit preparation and manufacturing facilities in all NHS hospitals in Wales, advising relevant Chief Pharmacist accordingly (legacy services and new centralised Pharmacy Technical Services). The post-holder will be a member of the National Management Team for the centralised Pharmacy Technical Service, with the responsibility for the strategic management and development of all national level Quality services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Pharmaceutical Quality System). The holder of the post will be responsible for leading and developing the pharmaceutical quality systems which will underpin the quality agenda of the service. The post-holder will be managerially accountable for the NHS Quality Commissioning Team and work in conjunction with the appointed Validation Consultant, during the implementation phase of the programme. In the interim period the post-holder will also continue to provide and oversee Quality Assurance functions to the Health Boards and Trusts and relevant Chief Pharmacist accordingly.
