Job Title: Legal Cashier
Location: St Albans
Reports to: Operations and Finance Director

Job Summary
This position is part of the Accounts team, which consists of 3 members, reporting directly to the Operations and Finance Director. As part of the Accounts department, your primary responsibility will be to support the financial operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. Initially, your focus will be on managing client accounts, but you will also provide assistance with office accounts during staff absences or holidays.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for conducting daily bank reconciliations.
2. Process payments such as invoices ensuring all transactions are documented correctly.
3. Process CHAPS and BACS payments efficiently and on time.
4. Conduct inter-account transfers as needed.
5. Assist with billing where required.
6. Monitor bank accounts for payments received.
7. Allocate client receipts.
8. Manage cheques in/out (client & office).
9. Handle emails & general queries.
10. Post to Land Registry.
11. Generate fee earner reports.
12. Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and internal policies.
13. Respond to emails and generate account queries promptly.

* Previous experience working in a Professional Service firm.
* Previous experience as a Legal Cashier.
Working Hours
* Office hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm (37.5 hours) Monday to Friday on a permanent, full-time contract.
* You may be required to work extra time to finish a job or during an emergency.

Pay: £34,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
