Role Introduction
To undertake efficient maintenance of the buildings and sites, including certain technical and administrative duties to ensure their most effective use.
The Site Maintenance Officer should carry out their duties in line with the seven principles of public life (Nolan principles).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work with the Chief Operating Officer to deliver high standard services to enable effective use of the Trust's school sites.
2. Maintain the Trust buildings, including effecting repairs and improvements.
3. Carry out planned and preventative maintenance.
4. Undertake improvements and replacements to the Trust estates assets.
5. Discuss with and monitor the work of site teams and contractors to ensure specified standards are achieved.
6. Liaise with external contractors ensuring safe working practices.
7. Maintain and monitor Health and Safety standards, reporting any failures to comply with the Trust’s statutory obligations in this area and ensure that contractors' work meets Health and Safety Regulations.
8. Oversee and maintain compliance activities/systems and records in line with those set out by the Trust.
9. Be available to attend in cases of emergency outside of normal working hours.
10. Provide cover at school sites during times of absence.
11. Perform such other tasks as may be determined from time to time.
Hours
The role is 37 hours per week on a 52-week contract with 22 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, which can be taken flexibly as agreed with the Chief Operating Officer.
The standard hours for this role are achieved flexibly within the operating hours of schools, which are typically 7 am to 6 pm, as agreed with the Chief Operating Officer.
Location
The main place of work will be the Trust offices, currently in Ellesmere Port; however, most time will be spent at school sites.
Pay
The role will be paid at £33,366 with a Nest pension contribution of 3%. Pay will increase in line with national pay increases.
