Job Title: Head of Information Security & Governance

Role Overview
This role is a key position within the Information Services department, offering the opportunity to lead a team committed to protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organisational systems and data. Collaborating with IT teams and stakeholders across the institution, you will drive the strategy and execution of information security and governance initiatives.
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing the identification and management of information security risks.
* Leading on compliance areas such as Data Protection, Data Management, and Freedom of Information.
* Designing and implementing strategies to identify, mitigate, and eliminate risks related to technology, data protection, and governance, ensuring alignment with organisational risk management frameworks.
* Researching and recommending suitable security frameworks and driving their implementation.
* Monitoring emerging risks and proactively proposing effective solutions.
