Key Responsibilities of a SEN TA: Support students with their learning, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis. Adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Assist with behaviour management and encourage positive social interactions. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers. Support students with social and emotional development. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide tailored support. Encourage students’ confidence and independence in their learning. Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. Requirements for an SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or support role as a SEN Teaching Assistant. A background in psychology, education, childcare, or related fields is advantageous. A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Teaching Assistance) is desirable.
