A "new to the market" modern style consultancy is looking to bring in an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Altrincham.
Having got to know this particular practice more, we have been thoroughly impressed by their plans for the future and what they have accomplished since they began this new venture a few years back.
They now have a small but growing team and after recently assisting them with a new hire, they require an intermediate level QS to join them and assist on their upcoming projects scheduled for 2025. The team comprises both seasoned, energetic MRICS QS/PM professionals as well as aspiring surveyors, creating a well-balanced environment where everyone benefits.
They have some brilliant new build and refurbishment projects underway, ranging from commercial to residential, with values up to £100 million, working for various prolific developers across the region. One project even includes one of Manchester's landmark listed buildings undergoing a full facade replacement, which will be the first of its kind.
This is a great position for those interested in joining a modern style practice that is on an upward trajectory, operating with a fresh perspective compared to traditional consultancies.
Requirements:
1. Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills with an interpersonal style that enables success in a direct client-facing role.
2. BSc degree qualified (ideally in Quantity Surveying) with post-degree construction experience working through the APC. Ideally, consultancy experience is preferred, but other backgrounds will be considered for the right candidate.
3. Ability to act as the Employers Agent when needed, chair meetings, and demonstrate the leadership skills required to lead a project team, including managing conflict and resolving complex issues.
4. Exceptional planning and organization skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively while managing multiple demands.
5. Assist in the management of the delivery of all pre & post contract services, including dealing with cost variances and associated change control processes, conducting valuation processes, carrying out cost checks, producing regular cost reports, and negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
