The job holder will play a crucial role in the production of the finished product, with a focus on overseeing and driving production while balancing key priorities: safety, quality, cost, operations, and people. In addition to ensuring smooth production flow, they will be responsible for staffing, performance management, and continuous improvement, helping to create a high-performing and efficient team. Hourly Pay: from £13.28 per hour Promote a "safety first" culture by actively engaging individuals and teams, using strong leadership skills. Drive product quality through systems and people. Consistently apply development and training to create a proactive learning environment. Encourage continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. Lead teams to achieve optimal performance in cost, resources, and service. Ensure compliance with health & safety and GMP standards at all times. Address any health and safety issues that arise. Maintain accurate control of raw materials and ensure full product traceability. Keep your area audit-ready at all times. Coordinate with planning to meet customer demand. Support and deputize for the factory manager when needed. Use training matrix data to promote job rotation and multi-skilling. Ensure work practices are environmentally responsible. Manage disciplinary actions and grievances according to company procedures. Effectively manage critical control points in the factory. Strong background in food manufacturing, preferably in meat, with a solid understanding of FMCG production. Demonstrates a desire to question processes and seek improvements in efficiency. Proven leadership, coaching, and management experience, with a track record in people and performance management. Experience supporting training and development within teams. Skilled in effectively managing diverse teams. GCSE / O-level or equivalent in Maths and English. Computer literate. Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMP). Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Level 2 standards. Awareness of hygiene and health and safety standards. Strong organizational skills and a pragmatic approach.
