Job Advert Applications for this post will only be accepted from current employees of West Lothian Council (this includes casual and agency staff who are currently undertaking work for us) A vacancy has arisen for a Depute Principal Educational Psychologist within West Lothian Council’s Educational Psychology Service. You will be part of a dynamic team who are committed to ensuring positive outcomes for the children and young people with whom we work. Maintaining and developing the positive ethos and culture of self-evaluation and continuous improvement will be a key aspect of the job. You will support the Principal Psychologist in the strategic and operational management of the service and will take the lead on key strategic initiatives at local authority level. You will provide line management support to a number of psychologists within the team, and will support them to deliver the highest levels of service through effective professional development planning. You will also be responsible for providing Educational Psychology Service support to schools in line with the model of service delivery. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
