The role
As a Proposal Writer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Playing a critical part of the wider Bid Team, helping us submit compelling, high-scoring, compliant responses that make it easy for customers to appoint Babcock.
Day-to-day, you'll work as part of the Land Future Business Team, supporting the Proposal Management Lead and Proposal Managers in the development and writing of effective written proposals in line with industry best practice.
Facilitate the storyboarding process of proposal documents, producing compelling, compliant, and impactful storyboards and mock-ups that effectively incorporate defined win themes
Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), who will act as content owners, to develop 'bottom-up' bid content using various techniques to extract information, including one-to-one interviews and workshops
Ensure mock-ups and response documents clearly articulate both features and benefits, and how this translates into value for the customer
Ensure written proposals align to the requirements and guiding policy set by the proposal strategy
Ensure the compelling and persuasive structuring of proposals, adopting proven writing techniques
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Proposal Writer
Experience of effective proposal writing/bid writing on large, complex, and strategic bids
Experience of Shipley/APMP proposal practices (or similar)
Qualifications for the Proposal Writer
APMP foundation level (or a willingness for Babcock to put you through it)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
