About the Role:
As a Cover Workshop Facilitator at HMP Millsike, you’ll manage workshop operations during periods of absence, ensuring continuous and purposeful activity. Your flexibility and adaptability will allow you to cover various workshops, delivering hands-on training that motivates and engages prisoners in their skill development journey.
Key Responsibilities:
* Step in to deliver practical training across multiple workshops, keeping prisoners engaged and supporting their growth.
* Seamlessly transition between industries, including manufacturing, cleaning, waste management, and horticulture, ensuring smooth operations.
* Conduct risk assessments, monitor tool security, and adhere to health and safety protocols specific to each workshop.
* Manage prisoners in workshop settings, promoting a positive environment and encouraging productive behaviours.
* Maintain accurate records, complete attendance logs, and document learner progress to support sentence planning and rehabilitation.
Requirements:
* Ideally hold a qualification in manufacturing or industrial operations, with strong experience managing groups in a workshop environment.
* Proven skills in adjusting to varied workshop settings and effectively engaging with prisoners.
* Experienced in administrative tasks, including logging attendance and managing workshop outputs.
* Skilled in maintaining safety standards and following prison security protocols.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours per week, with the following schedule:
* Four days per week: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
* One half-day per week: either 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
