ROLE LOCATION & CONTRACT TYPE
This role is based in our office in Southampton with Mondays & Fridays working from home.
This is a temporary role running for 12 months.
BASIC PURPOSE
The International Business Strategy Intern will support the team by assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting to help inform global market strategies. The intern will contribute to the creation of key performance reports, assist in managing data sets, and support ongoing projects aimed at improving international market performance. This role will provide valuable exposure to strategic initiatives, helping ensure alignment between market strategies and headquarters' goals. The intern will also assist in generating actionable insights that support decision-making and contribute to the overall business strategy.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare weekly booking reports, including analysis and commentary on key trends and performance insights.
* Assist in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to support reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
* Help develop and maintain regular reporting systems to ensure timely and accurate visibility into business performance.
* Support the preparation of trend analyses, summarizing findings, and communicating insights to senior management.
* Track and monitor the performance of business regions, sales, and tactical offers, preparing reports that summarize key takeaways and highlight areas for improvement.
* Assist in the preparation of reports by querying data sources and analyzing large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of interest.
* Work closely with Revenue Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to gather data for commercial tools, including tracking promotions and incentive programs.
* Collaborate with senior team members to prepare industry and competitive analysis reports to inform business strategies.
* Develop skills in using statistical methods for basic scenario testing and analyzing potential impacts of different business strategies.
* Support daily and weekly reporting activities, ensuring accurate data is delivered on time.
* Perform additional reporting tasks as required by the team.
EXPERIENCE
* Placement Student or Graduate interested in financial, and business planning positions.
* Previous experience working within a team desirable.
COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with Tableau, SAP Business Objects or Power BI tools
* Experience with SQL (Oracle / SQL Server) or other database querying languages preferred
* Methodical in approach with strong attention to detail.
* Self-starter, highly analytical and detail oriented without losing sight of the big picture.
* Strong work ethic, ability to work independently as well as with different team members across the entire organization.
* Organized, strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Able to effectively multitask and work under pressure.
* Strong project management skills, highly motivated, strategic thinker with an ability to lead a project from design to implementation.
