Production Engineer at DENSO Marston
As in-house recruiters for DENSO Marston, we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Engineer to strengthen and expand its Production Engineering Department to support new and existing business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, implement and monitor all new product/variant introductions with emphasis on efficient factory layout, process flow, and optimization of capital equipment.
2. Ensure introduction of new products is in line with NPI targets (Time, quality, budget) and following APQP methodologies.
3. Responsible for process development by identifying correct work methods and process equipment.
4. Define requirements for new equipment based on process design, implementing effectively while working in a cross-functional team.
5. Utilize lean manufacturing techniques and follow PDCA cycle to identify, lead, and implement improvements to:
1. Production capacity and output
2. First run capability of processes
3. Reduce scrap and rework
4. Improve Cycle time
5. OEE of Key equipment
6. Quality assurance and control of the processes
7. Safety and ergonomics in processes
6. Manage engineering and process changes while following established company procedures.
7. Support production section in case of technical problems with NPI and current processes.
8. Lead and be involved in the identification, development, project management, and implementation of complex improvement projects.
9. Participate and influence design review meetings to reach decisions towards ‘design for test’ and ‘design for manufacture’.
10. Interact and manage professionally external suppliers for procurement and development of process-related equipment.
11. Develop and maintain process documentation (PFMEA/PCP/Operator instructions) in compliance with the company's Quality management system (i.e. IATF16949).
Experience:
1. 2+ years’ experience of Production or Manufacturing Engineering within an automotive Tier 1 or FMCG environment.
2. Proven experience in PRMEA/APQP/Six sigma/Statistical Process Control methodologies and their application.
3. Cell layout, manufacturing process, and workstation design.
4. Materials flows, Kanban system, and pull systems.
5. Knowledge of CAD systems, ideally AutoCAD, Ansys, or Creo.
6. Excellent interpersonal skills including communication, presentation, and motivation.
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
Degree level qualification or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline is preferred.
