Incumbent of this role will be part of our Global Advanced procurement/buyout team and will report to Global Category Manager. Category Specialist role provides support of existing working relationship between Customer Service, Tendering Team and Advanced Procurement in order to generate sales. The performance of this individual will directly influence the Company’s external relationships, hence the key is to win opportunities.
Advanced Procurement team will be responsible to identify major Projects together with Tendering Team Managers with the purpose of obtaining Market level pricing on Buy-Out & major pump components like Electric Motors, Mechanical Seal & Systems, Lube Oil systems, Gear Boxes as well as survey supplier’s performance (KPI) as Category expert of Main buyout. In general, it is required that the incumbent has an engineering background and technical knowledge about Pumps application and electric motors selection for hazardous areas of installations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides support to Global tendering teams across the main buyout to ensure all quotations occur on time and with high quality from enquiry receipt to order entry.
* Develop and submit detailed lower risk proposals ensuring they are delivered in a high quality, timely fashion in support of the ITO (Inquiry to Order) Tendering Policy & Procedure.
* Review and evaluate technical specifications for Pumps equipment to define a process solution to fit the customers’ requirements, perform risk evaluation, extract applicable client requirements and translate/communicate specifications to subcontractors, sub-vendors and internal organization.
* Obtain quotations for relevant bought-in equipment in accordance with latest Global Supply Chain requirements.
* Liaise with the commercial team on customer needs, scope, and timing.
* Ensure accuracy and completion of both CPQ tender data and the BTC Quote log and actively manage them.
* Work as a member in support of Global Tendering Team to ensure suppliers KPI’s and Metrics are achieved.
* Develop technical suppliers’ selection in support of projects and markets.
* Develop, maintain, and distribute filtration product and procurement knowledge.
* Utilize product knowledge to select technical solutions to meet the customer’s needs.
* Develop Buyout Order Handover to ensure proposal to PO alignment.
* Develop and/or improve internal workflow or processes as a daily task.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Excellent communicator to bring common purpose to tasks and strategies (internal – external).
* Competence in Microsoft Office packages – Excel, Word, PowerPoint are prerequisites.
* Technical ability to learn and understand proprietary sizing & selection of company software.
* Organized, able to manage multiple tasks professionally.
* Good time management, sets and meets deadlines and assigned objectives.
* Understanding of engineering principles related to designated business unit, especially about our API Pump product line.
* Ability to read, interpret and accurately respond to technical specifications related to buyouts costs and design.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal personnel.
* Understands ownership and accountability of assignments.
* A team player with ability to interface with multiple functions - Operations, Finance, Engineering, Projects, Sales.
* Solid ability to learn products capabilities and limitations.
* Understanding of engineering principles related to Pump process and mechanical design of pressure vessels.
* Knowledge of industry engineering standards and product capabilities.
* Ability to manage detailed files and strives for accuracy.
* Awareness of market sectors and products served by the offered products.

MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* 8-12 years of relevant industry experience in buyouts components of API pumps; 4-5 years of recent experience in advanced procurement in Pump industry is preferred. Should have worked with Tendering/Proposal teams in the past.
* Experience in reviewing detailed specifications and writing comprehensive and accurate bids/costs.
* Mandatory to have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Should have worked with global suppliers; Internal global tendering team in the past.
* SAP knowledge.
* Able to travel (Domestic and International – 30%).
