AviadoBio is seeking a motivated summer intern to join our innovative Process Development Team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in biotechnology while contributing to our mission of developing transformative treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. Purpose The position is a summer internship within the Process Development department at AviadoBio with the aim of giving scientific and industry experience in a company delivering transformative treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. The project will focus on development of chromatographic separation methods for viral vectors. Requirements The Ideal Candidate Current undergraduate student completing their second or third year of studies Background in biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or related fields Passionate about gene therapy and biopharmaceutical process development Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and scientific curiosity Eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced research environment Internship Details Duration : 3 months Start Date : Between mid-June and early July 2025 Compensation : This is a paid internship offering minimum wage Location : London, UK Accountabilities Plan and manage materials and timelines to meet desired project outcomes Produce viral vectors in mammalian cell culture using transient transfection methods Plan and execute production experiments for evaluation of upstream unit operations modalities Collect, compile, and analyze quantitative, statistically-relevant data Maintain accurate documentation and recordkeeping within laboratory notebooks and quality systems, ensuring data integrity, IP protection, and regulatory compliance Interpret and present data in written and verbal formats to support decision-making processes at an interdepartmental level Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment through compliance with company and industry standards Interact with and support members of the company and laboratory across departments to effectively manage resources and goals Required Knowledge and Experience Knowledge of mammalian cell culture techniques, such as passaging and transfection A firm understanding of bioprocess engineering Experience in laboratory environments and techniques such as pipetting and buffer preparation Demonstrated ability to present data and engage in critical analysis of technical topics Good understanding of statistics and data analysis.
