We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team of Safety Stewards. The role involves ensuring the safety and security of spectators at all events held at the stadium, including football and rugby matches, concerts, and other events.
Whether you’re looking for lots of work or just a handful of shifts, our casual contract offers you great flexibility. However, we are looking for a commitment to at least one sport.
Responsibilities
* Provide a friendly and welcoming service to spectators, using information relating to key areas on site (medical room, toilets, bars, etc.)
* Check tickets to enter and provide assistance and direction to supporters.
* Be conversant with stadium emergency procedures, stadium policies and procedures.
* Keep entrances, exit routes, and staircases clear at all times.
* Monitor and control crowd movement.
* Report any safety concerns (venue capacities, intoxication, site breaches, medical incidents) to the supervisor.
* Assist with the evacuation of the stadium in the event of an emergency.
* Complete relevant training, including NVQ Level 2 in Spectator Safety.
* Have a good level of English (reading and writing).
* Be punctual and reliable.
* Be confident working within crowds of people.
* Be able to follow instructions from supervisors or managers.
* Have good listening skills and be able to retain simple information.
* Be able to recognize problems and resolve them where necessary.
* Have a positive attitude and be willing to go the extra mile for spectators.
* Enjoy assisting and supporting others and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
* Have a high attention to detail to ensure that those travelling to and from the game have a seamless experience.
Qualifications And Experience
* A customer service or hospitality background is not essential, but it can be helpful.
* The ability to work well under pressure is essential for safety stewards. You may need to deal with difficult situations, such as crowd control or medical emergencies.
* Being fit and active is also important, as safety stewards may need to walk long distances or stand for long periods of time.
* The willingness to work flexible hours is also important, as safety stewards are required to work weekends and evenings.
* Finally, safety stewards should have a positive and enthusiastic attitude. They should be able to interact with spectators in a friendly and helpful manner.
