Are you a Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work?
Here at Long-Term Teachers, we are working with a number of incredible special educational needs provisions in Totnes and the surrounding areas. We are seeking a qualified, experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team.
You will work alongside the classroom teachers to support learning in the classroom. You will also be responsible for working closely with the teacher to develop and implement core subject interventions to support individual children with their personal knowledge and academic progress. Additionally, you will lead the class for PPA cover, delivering pre-planned lessons.
You will be expected to:
* Have a real passion for working with young people, especially those with special educational needs
* Be able to engage children in their learning
* Build strong, positive relationships with children, staff and parents/carers
* Adapt teaching to respond to the needs of the students
* Have a sound understanding of special educational needs and strategies to support young people
* Have previous experience working in education
