The Hillingdon Hospital Foundation Trust (THHFT) has partnered Imperial Health Care Trust (ICHT) in providing RM input into the major trauma centre and is seeking to appoint a new consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine with special interest in Neurorehabilitation and Spinal Injuries to support the London Spinal Injury project. The post holder will join a team of 2 consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine (RM) and a team of neurologists who work across the 2 trusts (Imperial and Hillingdon). This is an excellent team with a network of consultants who work well and support each other across both trusts. Main duties of the job
This post consists of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), annualized as 8.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 1.5 Supporting Clinical Activities (SPA). This is an appointment by the Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust with license to attend at Imperial College NHS Trust. The post holder must hold full MRCP and a certificate of completion of training (CCT) in Rehabilitation Medicine. We welcome applications from trainees in Rehabilitation Medicine who are approximately 6 months from CCT.
Job responsibilities
The post holder will provide consultant input to the London Spinal Cord Injury Network and the Major Trauma Network in North West London. The post holder will be responsible for improving the care of spinal cord injury patients needing rehabilitation in the North West London sector. This will involve linking with community teams and outreach visits to community settings.
Person Specification
Essential
* Full GMC Registration with License to Practice
* MRCP or equivalent
* Recent clinical experience in Neurorehabilitation/Neurology
* Ability to work with multidisciplinary group
* Demonstrable commitment to teach, train and assess teaching of undergraduates, post graduates and nursing staff
* Proven teaching experience
* Experience of clinical audit and enable delivery of good practice
* Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) (the proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
Desirable
* Higher degree e.g. MD, PhD
* Experience in leading change
* Clinical and educational supervisor training courses.
* Completed education supervisor's course
* Relevant research articles in peer-reviewed journals
* Previous experience of participation in research.
* Published works
