The opportunity: To support Baker McKenzie's BDMC (Business Development, Marketing and Communications) team globally in programs and activities to drive profitable revenues and raise the firm's profile.
The successful candidate will work with the Belfast based team of over 40 specialists across Marketing, Comms, Media, Practices, Sectors, Clients, and Pursuits, supporting colleagues in developing and implementing plans and gaining hands-on experience in a global law firm in one of the largest BDCM teams in Northern Ireland. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact with professionals in a fast-paced, multi-cultural business environment.
This opportunity is ideal for students who are on track for a 2:1 degree or above studying Marketing, Business Studies, Communications, or a related degree.

About the role:
As part of this role, the successful candidate will:
Practice Groups and Industry Groups (PG/IG) and Business Development and Marketing
* Support the development and execution of business development and marketing day-to-day activities and programmes for the Sectors and Practices.
* Develop marketing materials to support campaigns, events, and client engagement.
* Support social media and digital campaigns.
Client Development
* Support targeted client initiatives and ensure that related activity is documented and shared with relevant stakeholders.
* Create and maintain membership lists, client contacts, and mailing lists.
* Gather research for client relationships using firm-wide systems and other teams and input into systems where relevant.
* Assist with overall coordination of newsletters, client alerts, documents, and reports; assist in the preparation and execution of webinar broadcasts.
* Assist with BakerMcKenzie.com updates - scheduling featured insights, updating page content, content tagging.
* Track and update databases and Blog.
Profile-raising and campaigns
* Support development and deployment of thought leadership content and other profile-raising activities working closely with the Marketing function, Sectors, and Practices.
* Support creation of marketing and client communications relating to market-facing knowledge-based tools and materials - handbooks, Apps and tools, market know-how, technical updates, training programs, and seminars, etc.
* Support practice group awards, directories, and league table submissions.
* Support media relations team in engaging with target press to raise firm profile.
Pitches and Panels
* Support pursuits team in development of pitches.
* Write content and create materials for pitches.
* Source firm-wide base data to support key pursuits and targeting initiatives.
Internal Communications
* Support the planning and related materials creation for internal communications, meetings, and special events.
* Assist with ad hoc BDMC information requests.
To be successful in this role you will need:
Skills and Experience:
* Studying for a relevant degree – Marketing, Business Studies, Communications, or related degree.
* Be on course for a 2.1 degree or above (We will determine whether you're on track for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study).
* Be an undergraduate university student expecting/hoping to undertake a work placement in your third year. Must be available to start in July 2025.
* Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise with people across the business.
* Excellent Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
* Strong time management skills and client service orientation.
* Demonstrates initiative and is a self-starter.
* Able to present ideas and views clearly and with confidence.
* Creative problem solving.
