A well-established organisation focusing on the design and manufacturer of automation and robotic solutions for a range of industries including automotive, medical, healthcare and packaging.\n\nMechanical Design Engineer\n\n£40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits\n\nLeicester\n\nRef: 24260\n\nMechanical Design Engineer - The Role:\n\nPerform mechanical design and detailing functions for a range of bespoke machinery projects using 3D CAD\nArrange Design Reviews during design to ensure design is well executed, meets overall requirements, designed for assembly, robust & reliable operation, is designed to meet or better budget, minimise any development issues, etc.\nNegotiate with external suppliers and obtain the most cost-efficient materials in line with project budgets and time plans\nAssist the electrical design process by communicating clearly and effectively through the duration of the project and especially through the mechanical design phase\nVisit customer sites as appropriate to fully understand customer requirements and to document and communicate all such requirements to the customer and internal staff.\nAssess and improve design concepts along with a team at sales quotation stage to reduce risks, costs, lead times\nConduct project reviews with customers on a periodic basis as agreed with the customer, documenting all issues and reporting on the status of each project\nMechanical Design Engineer - The Person:\n\nCompetence in Mechanical Design, robotics, automation, design of mechanical mechanisms and pneumatic systems would be an advantage\nDegree qualified HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline\nExpert user of 3D parametric CAD package, ideally SolidEdge however use of SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc. would also be considered\nDemonstrate a proven track record of successfully delivering mechanical design projects to required time scale and budget\nKnowledge and understanding of the various national and international standards for machine design and machine safety systems and requirements to CE mark machine systems\nLocated in Leicestershire, this role would be commutable from within and around the following areas: Coventry, Leicester, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Market Harborough.\n\nFor further information call John Anderson\n\nAE1
