Purpose of the role: This is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic team supporting complex and vulnerable women across six districts of Worcestershire. The JOY Project is a female only service. You will support JOY Project Lead to plan, deliver and support our clients in weekly group sessions and collate relevant data for monitoring and evaluation.
PRINCIPLE TASKS
• Provide 1to1 and group support within the community for vulnerable and disadvantaged women.
• Carry out assessments for women enrolled on the JOY Project, making referrals to, and supporting them to access services, to include Domestic abuse, mental health, safeguarding, benefits, debt, housing and financial advice.
• Assist and support service users to create a Personal Development plan, using GROW Goals
• Explore solutions to build self - confidence and increase personal empowerment for women.
• Design and facilitate, group work to develop peer support networks and to increase skills, confidence, self-esteem and emotional resilience in participants.
• Recruit, motivate and encourage people to become volunteers and peer mentors.
• Support the Project Lead with the Skills development of the team, to include the support workers and volunteers, through training and mentoring.
• Assist Project Lead & Senior Project Worker with the production of performance monitoring reports and project evaluation.
• Identify barriers faced by clients in need of specialist services and provide support and guid-ance to overcome these.
• Have own transport to work across 6 Worcestershire Districts
• Be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Skills and experience needed for JOY Project Worker
Experience- essential
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged wom-en.
• Experience of providing one-to-one support and group support to service users.
• Experience of multi-agency approaches to supporting individuals and families, including making referrals and advocating on client’s behalf, including safeguarding.
• Experience of creating proven action plans to address risk and client needs
• Experience of devising and delivering courses to groups of women, in response to client consultations.
• Experience of working with volunteers and developing volunteer opportunities.
• Experience of maintaining excellent IT records and data collection for project out-comes including adherence to GDPR.
Experience – desirable

• Experience of the voluntary sector
