HSE Manager

Major Recruitment is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join our client's manufacturing site in Burton upon Trent.
As HSE Manager, you will drive and implement a robust Health and Safety culture at all levels within a manufacturing, storage, transport, and office environment. You will provide compliance, advice, guidance, and support on all Health, Safety, and Environmental matters across the sites within the group, working to ensure that all the required systems are in place and adhered to.
Your key responsibilities as HSE Manager will include:
* Developing and leading the team in promoting, educating, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment across the company.
* Ensuring all sites adhere to outlined HSE policy.
* Keeping the Directors and SLT aware of all key HSE compliance changes.
* Developing and implementing a strategy to improve safety and reduce the impact on the environment.
* Ensuring that all Risk Assessments are completed and reviewed as per current legislation and maintaining appropriate records.
* Coordinating fire and evacuation programs.
* Assisting in the reviewing of PUWER assessments.
* Supporting all transformational and CDM projects.
* Assisting managers to complete all risk assessments and special assessments.
* Conducting and carrying out internal compliance audits of all sites, reporting and developing a plan to address any issues arising.
* Implementing practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace.
* Selecting, developing, and training Health and Safety representatives across departments and shifts.
* Coordinating and managing first aid and fire safety representatives for all sites, including training and auditing.
* Reviewing, recommending, and implementing control measures and advising on the standards of PPE.
* Reviewing all accident and near-miss incidents and recording all remedial actions.
* Reporting all incidents reportable under RIDDOR to the Directors.
* Conducting Health, Safety, and Environmental inspections and preparing documents and reports as required.
* Identifying areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by legislation, Codes of Practice, or HSE guidance and arranging such training/certification as required.
* Working closely with the development team on all new projects.
* Reviewing and implementing contractor health and safety procedures.
* Keeping up to date with changes in legislation and implementing changes where relevant.
What's in it for you?
* Salary Circa 53,000 plus 4200 car allowance.
* Working predominantly Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, however, flexibility will be needed to meet business needs.

Key Skills & Qualifications for HSE Manager
* Proven background and experience in a similar role.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills to build relationships within the organization and positively impact the company.
* Strong leadership qualities.
* NEBOSH qualified (Lv. 3 Certificate as a minimum - Lv. 5 Diploma preferred).
* Environmental Cert (IEMA).
* Previous experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment or similar.
* People management skills, able to motivate and coach others.
* Highly engaging individual with well-developed interpersonal skills, able to relate to, work with, and influence people at all levels internally and externally.
* Professional, proactive, organized, and motivated.
