As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across all sales channels within Blackpool Transport, including ticketing, advertising sales, private hire, partnerships, and business development opportunities. You will identify and secure new revenue streams while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders. Your role will involve managing sales performance, developing new commercial opportunities, and enhancing the customer experience through innovative sales initiatives. You will work closely with the wider commercial and marketing teams to ensure the company’s sales objectives align with its overall strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, business development, or commercial management, preferably within public transport or a related industry. Sales Strategy and Revenue Growth Implement a comprehensive sales strategy to maximise revenue across ticketing, advertising, private hire, and partnerships. Identify new business opportunities, securing commercial deals that contribute to the company's financial sustainability. Drive sales performance through data analysis of ticket sales. Lead initiatives to increase ticket sales, including corporate partnerships, group sales, and digital sales channels. Advertising Sales and Commercial Partnerships Work with local businesses, agencies, and national brands to sell tram advertising space, including vehicle wraps and on-board digital displays. Manage pricing structures, contract negotiations, and advertising packages to maximise profitability. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales materials and promotional campaigns to attract advertisers. Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to ensure Blackpool Transport remains a competitive option for advertisers. Private Hire Sales Develop and promote private hire services for buses and trams, targeting event organisers, corporate clients, and tourism operators. Identify and pursue new markets for private hire services, including weddings, trips, and corporate events. Work closely with the operations team to optimise vehicle availability and pricing structures for private hire bookings. Lead marketing efforts to raise awareness of bus and tram private hire options, including online promotions, social media campaigns, and local business outreach. Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and long-term partnerships. Administrate private hire bookings from end-to-end. Business Development and Partnerships Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, tourism partners, event organisers, and corporate clients. Develop innovative commercial opportunities, such as retail partnerships, sponsorship deals, and event collaborations. Identify potential areas for expansion, including new ticketing products, subscription models, and premium services. Stakeholder and Internal Collaboration Work closely with the operations and finance teams to align sales objectives with service delivery and budget planning. Provide regular reports to the executive team on sales performance, key initiatives, and revenue trends. Regulatory Compliance and Best Practices Ensure all sales, advertising, and private hire activities comply with relevant industry regulations and company policies. Implement best practices in customer service, ensuring high standards are maintained across all sales channels. Team Leadership and Development Lead, coach, and develop the seasonal sales team to achieve their full potential. Foster a culture of high performance, motivation, and continuous improvement. Essential Qualifications and Knowledge Experience in sales, business development, or commercial management.
