Senior Flood Risk Consultant
Location: Exeter
Build Maintain Recruit are seeking an experienced Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join a consultancy in Exeter. This role offers the chance to take the lead on a variety of flood risk and drainage projects, manage client relationships, and play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes within a supportive and innovative team.
As a Senior Flood Risk Consultant, you will:
* Lead and deliver flood risk and drainage projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
* Manage client relationships, including negotiations with LLFA authorities and public consultations.
* Oversee project financials, including fee proposals, invoicing, and ensuring financial viability.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Mentor junior staff, providing guidance and managing workload priorities.
* Provide technical support to senior management and contribute to team success through resource planning and quality management.
Requirements:
* A 2:1 degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Professional qualification or progress towards IEng, CEng (ICE or CIWEM).
* 7-10 years experience in flood risk and drainage design, ideally within the private sector.
* Proven expertise in Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies, and detailed drainage designs.
* Strong project management, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microdrainage, FLOW, and reviewing CAD work.
* Knowledge of NPPF, planning systems, and flood risk/drainage design guidance (e.g., CIRIA).
Desirable:
* Experience in appeal work and business development.
