The University Hospital of North Midlands Trust has a purpose built and dedicated Cancer Centre at our Royal Stoke site and an Outpatient Chemotherapy Treatment Unit at our County site. All inpatient and majority of outpatient oncology and haematology services are delivered from the purpose-built, Cancer Centre which opened in July 2009. The specialist Cancer Centre has an Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) where all oncology and haematology emergencies are admitted directly and dealt with by an in-house dedicated medical and nursing team.
Main duties of the job
We provide cancer care to a local population of 70,000. We have the facilities to diagnose and treat all types of cancers. Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on the professional register
* Evidence of recent on-going professional development
* Recognised qualification in teaching and assessing, or evidence of delivering teaching.
* Systemic anti-cancer Therapy (SACT) Passport
Knowledge
* Venepuncture and cannulation skills
* Has experience as a registered nurse in an Acute hospital setting.
* Is able to recount / discuss the requirements for high standard of care.
* Ability to use a computer
