Skippers Grounds Maintenance Limited have been established since 2009 and are looking to expand our team further to accommodate the demand in work. We are contractors for many schools, councils and housing associations and carry our high standards through all aspects of our work. We provide grounds maintenance services all over the county. Our services include grass mowing (push and ride-on), strimming, white lining of school playing fields, hedge cutting, clearing leaves and litter picking.
Due to our workload rapidly expanding, Skippers Ground Maintenance are looking for motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our experienced grounds team.
We operate in many schools across the county and therefore will be carrying out DBS checks on the successful candidates.
The role will involve:
* Grass mowing (push and ride-on)
* White line marking
* Hedge cutting
* Clearing of leaves and litter
* Maintain shrub beds
* Use specialist equipment and machinery and hand tools
* Often working on your own or as part of a team
* Driving a company vehicle to domestic and commercial properties across our area
* Speak to the office to provide updates regarding jobs completed
* Provide excellent customer services to all customers
* Follow current health & safety policies
Salary: Dependant on experience and qualifications.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm Summer hours, 7:30am - 4:15pm Winter hours. Some weekends will be required and the opportunity for overtime during the summer months.

The ideal candidate must:
* Have a full clean UK driving licence.
* Horticultural or Grounds keeping knowledge
We would like the ideal candidate to also hold (but not essential):
* PA1 & 6 qualifications
* Trailer licence
* Chainsaw certificates
* Street working certificate

* Be able to organise a small team to work across your designated sites
* Have the ability to be flexible in the day-to-day running of the business
* Must be able to think logically and be good at problem-solving, able to effectively and quickly find solutions when necessary
* Excellent communication skills with customers and within the teams
* Must have a keen interest in the role and a willingness to learn
* Must be reliable and a positive person who works well in a team
* Must have a proactive approach to the work and be confident to think independently
