Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You'll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Job duties include:
1. Accounts Payable: Comparing purchase ledger invoice details to a purchase order schedule, ensuring any variances are identified and referred to the appropriate person for investigation and resolution.
2. Coding and processing purchase ledger invoices.
3. Cash Collection: Reconcile cash received and ensure the prompt posting and accurate allocation across multi-currency accounts, monitor trends and provide reporting on unallocated cash positions.
4. Billing: Process self-billing invoices to tight timescales ensuring attention to detail, prepare and reconcile applications for payment, ensure all relevant invoices are raised on client partner portals in a timely and accurate manner.
5. Account Management: Ensure a high level professional service.

Course contents:
* Record transactional data.
* Use the organisation's standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements.
Your training plan
Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2. This level is ideal for existing staff or new talent in accounting and finance. Their work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry. Learners will complete the mandatory AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
