As an Analyst within this team, you will play a critical part in supporting the Revenue Assurance team’s understanding of Wave’s gross margin performance and finding areas of improvement, through data interrogation and review of system processes. Adopting a Right First Time mindset, you will carry out comprehensive reviews of wholesale charging, settlement information and billing information and maintain a suite of assurance reports allowing management to assess the financial implications of gross margin leakage and accurately report revenues and costs. Based in Durham, you will be a key part of the Revenue Assurance team and wider business. WHAT WILL YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE? Support the Revenue Assurance Team in understanding Wave's gross margin performance at a granular level. Development of comprehensive understanding of wholesale costs. Provide Revenue Assurance with visibility of transactions within the market to inform financial decision making. Develop strong working knowledge of Velocity billing system. Diagnose Root Cause issues and scrutinise billing information. Development and maintenance of analysis reports to aid with identification of cost recovery to support robust business decisions. Own the delivery and analysis of market settlement forecasts. Development and maintenance of revenue charging analysis to support robust business decisions. Production and enhancement of existing reports. Support with project reporting to monitor cost recovery. Assess implications of operational weaknesses and monitor improvements. Take ownership of driving insight over effectiveness of operational activity and controls, identifying areas of improvement to minimise gross margin leakage. Collaborate with other Analysts to support accuracy and integrity of gross margin reporting and with Data Governance to support a strong control framework. Effectively engage with key stakeholders to enable problem analysis, business solution identification and implementation of change. Support stakeholders to gain a better understanding of issues that can have a detrimental impact on gross margin. WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU? Ability to interrogate data for the purposes of informing strategy and financial decision making. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to manipulate ‘Big Data’. Highly numerate with analytical and problem-solving abilities. Enthusiastic and driven individual who has a proactive approach and wants to make a difference. Confident and effective communicator with the ability to build relationships and communicate and present complex messages to internal and external customers. Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure and to provide practical solutions. A numerical degree, financial qualification or relevant experience in a similar role.
