Position Description An excellent opportunity has arisen for a CAD Engineer to work in the Product Development Chiller department. The role involves working closely with a team of mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing and quality engineers to design and develop the structural framework and packaging of new standard Chiller products from concept through to production manufacture whilst maintaining the existing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The role consists of working as part of a team to develop new product design projects in accordance with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and relevant SOM guidelines from concept through to full product launch.
Producing drawings adhering to company, departmental and industry standards
Creating 3D models, layout drawings and designing pipe-work
Creating sheet metal manufacturing drawings of folded parts and assembly drawings.
Working to deadlines and cost requirements
Designing products with manufacturing and assembly in mind, allowing labour targets to be met
Structuring Bills of Material
Sourcing appropriate furnishings and casework fittings
Develop designs for consumption in both EU and North American markets Required Education & Qualifications
Experience of MS Word and Excel are essential
5 years plus experience in a CAD Engineer role
HNC or Degree qualified in an Engineering or Science based subject
Previous product design experience
Sheet metal design experience
Sheet metal manufacturing experience preferred
Mechanical engineering knowledge would be an advantage
Have an ability to use their own initiative
Able to communicate effectively at all levels
Siemens Teamcentre PLM Ideally experience of the following software:
o Solid Edge ST9 and later
o Radan 2D CAD/CAM
o AutoCAD 2D
o SAP
Although a high base level of CAD knowledge is expected, training will be provided for the right applicant to develop the skills and knowledge required for the position.
