SHEQ Advisor
St Albans
Rate: ~ £300-350 per day (outside IR35)
Duration: 6 Months
Are you a seasoned health and safety contractor with expertise in utilities, specifically water?
We're working with a leading infrastructure services company that's making waves in the industry. They're currently delivering a range of major water projects across the Home Counties and have seen impressive growth over the last two years, with a turnover of around £600m and a string of new contract wins in their infrastructure services division.
Right now, they're on the lookout for a SHEQ Advisor to join them on a contractual basis. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of health and safety for the mobilisation of a clean water contract. If you've got the experience and are ready to hit the ground running, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Advisor will include:
1. Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance, and keeping updated with key changes to legislation
2. Engaging across sites to drive improvement and positive culture across health and safety
3. Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance
4. Engaging with the client and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact
The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:
1. Proven experience in a similar role within utilities, ideally within water
2. Experience and knowledge of HSG 47 (underground services), and service avoidance is critical.
3. A NEBOSH or NCRQ Certificate and ideally the relevant member of IOSH
4. A good knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulations
This assignment will require a self-starter who can lead by example and hit the ground running. Contact Tom Hewat on 01923 432 637.
