Hiring Now: Operations Technician (Landfill Gas) – Accrington Salary: £35,378 to £43,887 (dependent upon skills and experience) Company Vehicle Provided Excellent Benefits Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week | On-Call Rotation: 1 in 5 weeks Our client is a leading renewable energy company generating c230GWh of electricity from landfill gas across 19 sites in the UK. We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Operations Technician to join our team in Accrington, helping to maximize electrical output while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Your Key Responsibilities: • Adhering to safe working practices and procedures in all areas of work. • Assisting in the implementation and supervision of health, safety, and quality procedures. • Performing planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance of generator sets and associated plant equipment. • Providing backup and call-out support to other sites when required. • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of operations and maintenance activities. • Monitoring and maintaining landfill gas collection systems and associated equipment. • Managing consumable stock, including lube oils, filters, spark plugs, and fan belts, ensuring adequate spare parts stock on-site. • Participating in routine stock takes of site parts. What We’re Looking For: • Experience in operations and maintenance of reciprocating engines and/or related control systems. • Qualified to BTEC level (or equivalent) in a mechanical or electrical discipline, or demonstrable relevant experience. • Highly flexible, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. • Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation (1 in 5 weeks once trained). • Full UK driving license required.
