The Governors of Catshill Middle School and Catshill First School & Nursery are seeking to recruit a dynamic School Business Manager to work across our two schools. Catshill is welcoming, positive and inclusive and the schools have a community feel. The schools are part of The Spire Learning Trust and the new SBM will be part of a team of Business Managers working alongside the CFO and COO.
About the role:
As the School Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth running of the school’s financial, administrative, and operational functions. You will oversee financial management, budgeting, resource allocation, HR support, and compliance, ensuring the school remains a safe, effective, and high-performing environment for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management: Prepare, monitor, and report on the school budget.
2. Human Resources: Oversee recruitment, staff payroll, and personnel administration.
3. Operations: Manage school premises, facilities, and health & safety requirements.
4. Compliance: Ensure compliance with government regulations, policies, and procedures.
5. Strategic Support: Work with the Headteacher and Governors to support school development plans.
What We Are Looking For:
1. Proven experience in school business management or a similar administrative/finance role.
2. Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
3. Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
4. Experience working with educational software and systems.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and staff.
6. A proactive approach and a commitment to the success of the school community.
