Job summary CAVOC is a busy elective orthopaedic ward, with an exciting new opening of an additional unit - the Enhanced Recovery Unit (ERU); which provides level 1 enhanced care to orthopaedic, trauma and breast patients. We are looking for an experienced, passionate nurse to become a Deputy Sister/Charge nurse to lead in the ERU unit, whilst providing hands on care and ensuring the appropriate training and upskilling of staff is maintained to the highest standard. Main duties of the job This is an opportunity to work within a motivated multidisciplinary team at the forefront of excellence in enhanced care within the Trauma and Orthopaedic directorate. We are seeking an experienced nurse with ITU/PACU experience who can demonstrate the essential criteria, and who has experience of leading a team. Main duties include: Upskilling and training of staff Care of arterial lines Useage of Blood gas machines Performing ABGs Using Metaraminol infusions It is essential that the successful candidate is able to inspire and motivate others.
