Job summary
Opportunities of Specialty Doctor career grade posts are available in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at The Royal Oldham Hospital. You must be an experienced doctor who can provide demonstrable expertise in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in order to deliver a high quality independent service or manage complex cases with reference to a consultant.
The Department is within the Families Division, and serves a population of 800,000. The Trust provides a service from Fairfield General Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary with referrals received from the community teams, GPs and other hospital consultant colleagues.
The multidisciplinary team provides a full range of Obstetrics and Gynaecology services, both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will complement existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The post holder is therefore required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid licence to practice and will have completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake research in 'female reproductive disorders' project at Manchester University. The job is intended for two years.
