Role Purpose: As a member of our small team of Solutions Engineers, you will support Salesforce, the core application used by our Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams to deliver an outstanding customer journey. Your goal will be to deliver solutions that add value to our end users and ultimately our customers. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders as part of an Agile Product team, you will help optimise our business processes, enable data-driven decision-making, and set our teams up for success. You will be part of a Technology team committed to delivering a 5-star service to our customers and maintaining the highest standards. This role is on a fixed term basis which will be office-based, requiring a minimum of two days per week at our Head Office in Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities / Deliverables: Gather, understand and document business problems, detailed system requirements/user stories and acceptance criteria. Design and build solutions that use out-of-the-box Salesforce functionality and best practice to meet customer needs whilst always aligning with company and product roadmap objectives. Peer review and challenge solution designs. Conduct testing (QA) activities aligned to acceptance criteria to ensure quality solutions are delivered. Deploy platform changes through the development pipeline following change control best practice. Create and maintain detailed documentation for all solutions to ensure business problems, user stories, acceptance criteria, solution designs, test plans and support guides are thoroughly and consistently documented using standard templates and centralised repository. Responsible, along with the other members of development team, for maintaining the health of the Salesforce platform and striving to minimise technical debt. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues should they arise. Establish and maintain positive collaboration and professional relationships with internal and external customers, team members and vendors/partners. Spend 10% of your time on your personal development aligned to personal and business needs. About You Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: As a minimum Salesforce Administrator Certified. At least 2-3 years’ experience in a Salesforce Administrator role or similar. Proven skills configuring solutions in Salesforce using ‘out-of-the-box’ features. Experience of deploying changes from test to production environments – knowledge of Copado, or similar, is desirable. Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile (Scrum) project methodologies. Experience working with Salesforce managed packages. Knowledge of any of the following packages is desirable – Conga Composer & Sign, Asperato, Natterbox, Own Backup, Onfido. Strong written and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders from end users to senior executives. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Experience defining business requirements, writing user stories and creating detailed design and support documentation. Exposure to Jira and Confluence desirable.
