The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network in line with a NHSI directive.
We are looking for a confident, reliable and well-presented individual to join our multidisciplinary Hospital Transfusion Team (HTT) whose remit is to promote the Better Blood Transfusion initiative across the UHNM trust and wider members of the North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service.
Main duties of the job
Mainly based at Royal Stoke University Hospital, with occasional travel to County Hospital, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the Hospital Transfusion Team and will be responsible for extracting information from various sources i.e. clinical documents, pathology LIMS, blood tracking system and produce data reports for audits and practice improvements. The requirement is to produce consistent, accurate, complete & timely data to facilitate managers & clinicians in the monitoring, planning and provision of a high quality and safe transfusion service.
The post holder will be responsible for locating evidence of blood and blood component traceability and updating various computer systems with this traceability evidence.
The post holder will be responsible for scheduling meetings, training events, and produce clear and concise minutes for review by technical and clinical teams. They will also interact with the wider trust communications team on behalf of the HTT and will be responsible for updating the UHNM Blood Transfusion social media pages. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Transfusion Practitioner team and will interact with laboratory, clinical and support staff.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who are educated to GCSE level or equivalent, hold an RSA level 3 qualification or equivalent and who have data entry experience and knowledge of hospital administration systems.

Qualifications
* GCSE at grade C or above in English Language or equivalent
* GCSE at grade C or above in mathematics or equivalent
* RSA III or equivalent in word processing
* Working knowledge of Microsoft office 365 package including Excel
* Working knowledge of Outlook
* Working knowledge of EPR
* 4 GCSEs at grade C or above
Knowledge, skills, training and experience
* Experience of data entry
* Experience in the use of all forms of office equipment
* Ability to organise oneself
* Excellent telephone and communication/interpersonal skills

* Previous experience working in a Health Care environment
