We have an opportunity for an Infection Prevention and Control Lead to join their team of staff in the Nursing Department. This is a part-time role for hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Your new role
1. Registered Nurse/Health Care Professional with NMC/HCPC Registration
2. Teaching and assessing qualifications ENB 998 (or equivalent).
3. Specialist knowledge to a level defined for that hospital
4. Able to apply specialist knowledge to risk assessment and support appropriate controls.
5. Presentation skills.
6. Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
7. Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
What you'll need to succeed
8. To ensure Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) is addressed in all areas of the hospital, and reflected throughout all activity related to healthcare provision.
9. Taking accountability for infection prevention all new business, new build and refurbishment.
10. Ensuringpliance with the HCAI code (DH 2010) for CQC requirements in England and equivalent for hospitals in Scotland and Wales.
11. To ensure environmental cleaning is sufficient and appropriate to the level of risk in each area of the hospital in partnership with the housekeeping department.
12. To providement and advice on the purchase, introduction and use of equipment in relation to IPC issues.
13. To support the local Waste Officer in all waste management but especially in the management of the clinical waste stream.
