Job Title: Engineering Quality & Safety Assurance Engineer
Salary: £47,600- £58,500 per annum dependent on experience

Aeropeople are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineering Quality & Safety Assurance Engineer on behalf of our client based in Carterton, Oxfordshire. Reporting into the Engineering Quality & Safety Assurance Manager, you will work as part of the Compliance team and will support the implementation and management of all aspects relating to Quality and Safety Management System functions in the Fleet Engineering Department, including the CAA and MAA Part 145 and Part CAMO requirements.
The role includes supporting the maintenance of regulatory approvals, active participation in quality oversight, audits, engineer authorisations, risk assessments, hazard analysis and supporting improvement action. This will include interfacing with other focal points for Quality and Safety across the business.
This will be a hybrid working role- 2 days per week in the office and 3 days per week from home.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To hold regulatory accountability for the performance of Airworthiness Reviews across the fleet of aircraft. In conjunction with audits and engineers authorisations, operate in a mode of continuous improvement to identify, make recommendations and implement changes to enhance operational delivery and customer service engaging with all functional managerial levels.
2. Be capable of undertaking Aircraft Airworthiness Reviews (ARC) and Extensions enabled through UK CAA approval via Form 1769 acceptance. Perform ARCs when the Airworthiness Review schedule requires within regulatory defined timescales. Produce ARC reports for submission to the CAA and MilCam.
3. Supervise external CAA Aircraft Continuous Airworthiness Monitoring, Part 145 and Part CAMO audits as required by the CAA audit programme.
4. Supervise external MAA Part 145 audits as required by the MAA audit programme.
5. Act as subject matter expert to mentor staff in new processes, procedures and upgrades in IT software.
6. Deliver the effective implementation and maintenance of the Part 145 and Part CAMO Quality Assurance processes to fulfil the obligations of UK National Requirements.
7. Deliver the effective implementation and maintenance of the MAA Part 145 Quality Assurance processes to fulfil the requirements of the UK National Requirements.
8. Functional management of the Company Authorisation system requirements in accordance with Part 145.A.35, including the control and issue of Personal Authorisations.
9. Plan and conduct Licenced Aircraft Engineers B1 / B2 / A Authorisation boards to assess Engineers competence to hold company Authorisations to issue certificates of release to service.
10. Be accepted and approved by the UK CAA to review and recommend the issue and extension of Aircraft Engineers Licences.
11. Facilitate the resolution of intra-departmental processes that support the timely issue / reissue of Licenced Aircraft Engineers Licences and Authorisations.
12. Conduct Safety and Quality Assurance Audits in line with the audit plan throughout the Fleet Engineering Department and when required in other departments. Audits include preparation, in-brief of line managers, audit activity, debriefing, reporting, recording findings in AQD and following up action items.
13. Undertake out of hours and off site audits to assure regulatory compliance with contractor and subcontractor regulatory requirements.
14. Perform evaluation of suppliers for Engineering and Maintenance functions and support in accordance with regulatory requirements.
15. Perform regulatory assessments of subcontractors, specialist services and vendors in relation to the performance of contracted Fleet Engineering services.
16. Manage and develop audit checklists in AQD for allocated audits against relevant national regulations and company processes.
17. Provide subject matter expertise and approve line maintenance activities required by 145.A.10 at Planning meetings up to and including C Checks, modification programmes and defect rectification.
18. Manage ownership of allocated Compliance procedures to ensure good practice and regulatory compliance.
19. Perform detailed analysis of incidents and occurrence report trends, including safety and maintenance related issues, and support the generation of trend reports for submission to the Management team.
20. Be responsible for managing, bringing to the attention of line management, any nonconformities and / or opportunities for improvement that are identified.
21. Be personally responsible for engaging in all facets of the role in line with the requirements of the SMS, Quality and Environmental Management Systems to provide a safe and efficient outcome to all that is done. This Includes maintaining awareness of the company safety and quality policies and the hazard analyses applicable to your tasking.
22. Operate as an integral member of the Compliance Team, contributing effectively to all business matters.
23. Participate in management of the AQD quality and safety database for recording occurrences, unsafe situations and audit findings. The management of this database includes ensuring the responsible line managers are taking the agreed actions in a timely manner, monitoring trends, and disseminating the outcome to the Line Managers and the staff as appropriate.
24. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure successful compliant goals are achieved.

About You:
Essential:
* UK CAA Part 66 License or equivalent Aeronautical Engineering Degree and previous experience in continuing airworthiness
* Extensive demonstrable experience in commercial aviation.
* Significant previous experience in a Quality Assurance and/or Safety Management role.
* Formal aeronautical maintenance training.
* Significant demonstrable ability to conduct audits and produce accurate reports.
* Extensive understanding of CAA Regulatory structure.
* Significant previous experience in a position within the approved organisation with appropriate responsibilities.
Desirable:
* UK CAA Licence or a recognised post graduate technical qualification.
* Prove acceptable to CAA as ARC signatory SRG1769 Part.CAMO.A.305(e) ARC Signatory.
* Experience in A330 maintenance operations.
* Previous Military experience.
* Experience with AQD.
* Familiarity with MEDA methodology.
* Significant computer literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office programs, with proficiency in using Excel to create pivot tables and diagrams to best communicate results.
