Ivy Resource Group are currently looking to hire a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join one of our clients on a permanent basis in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Our client is a forward-thinking construction consultancy that works in both the domestic and commercial sector.
The role:
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist quantity surveyors with the cost of building projects. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in diverse and challenging projects with a dynamic team in a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Help prepare and evaluate bills of quantities, tenders, and contract documents.
2. Help track and manage project budgets, valuations, and variations.
3. Conduct site visits with the other QS and work closely with project teams to monitor progress and costs.
4. Assess and negotiate sub-contractor and supplier contracts.
5. Ensure compliance with contract terms and legal regulations, with guidance from the QS.
6. Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to resolve commercial issues.
7. Assist with risk management and cost control initiatives.
Essential requirements:
1. Relevant qualification (Degree/HND) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. Our client would also consider someone with practical experience working for a main contractor.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Quantity Surveying within construction.
3. Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
4. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, project management tools).
