MCL has vacancies for:
1) a Senior Estimator
Rate: an indicative limited company rate to man of circa £65.00 per hour. This is negotiable.
2) a Principal Estimator
Rate: an indicative limited company rate to man of circa £80.00 per hour. This is negotiable.
The successful candidate will work on a range of projects for our Oil and Gas client in Leatherhead.
Duration: an initial 12 month contract role that has an immediate start
Location: These roles will be based on 5 days a week in the Clients Offices in Leatherhead. Hybrid working may be possible with two days remote.
The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a Qdos assessment.
Responsibilities
Senior Estimator:
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for the preparation of all classes of Capital Cost Estimates by the application of recognised methodologies and industry practices.
They will have experience in onshore and offshore estimates in energy and chemicals markets including energy transition.
Job Description
Define the estimating scope for a project and prepare an estimate plan of work, to identify all deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines to ensure planned completion and the estimate is developed in insufficient detail and is in accordance with good estimating practice.
Estimates should be:
• complete.
• fully auditable.
• assessed for accuracy, uncertainties, risk, and contingencies.
• in accordance with the approved estimate plans.
1. Ensure an estimate is constructed to provide accurate costs for all components in agreed project WBS and CBS
2. Ability to access and develop labour rates and productivity for global projects.
3. Conduct detailed analysis and benchmarking to support final estimate.
4. Manage and maintain all documentation received, used in the estimate to ensure auditability and back up of the estimate.
5. Manage input (schedule and quality) from engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines to ensure compliance with estimate plan and procedures to deliver compliant estimates.
6. For an assigned project report to the Lead Estimator or Project Manager
7. Reporting to the Estimating Director at a department level
Principal Estimator:

23. Provide support with independent reviews of other estimates.
24. Have an understanding and input into the cost risk assessment of a project.
25. Manage input (schedule and quality) from engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines to ensure compliance with estimate plan and procedures to deliver compliant estimates.
26. For an assigned project report to the Project Manager and responsible for directing and organizing and supervising assigned estimators
27. Reporting to the Estimating Director at a department level
Skills Required for both roles:
Experience in Study, Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC estimates
Competence and experience in detailed presentation of the estimate to clients and management
Knowledge of all estimating techniques
Must exercise skill in communications and interpersonal relationships with staff in Estimating and in other workgroups.
