Main duties of the job
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Responsibilities include monitoring resident wellbeing, being involved in care planning, supporting with medication, and undertaking staff supervision and development.

Job responsibilities
Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
* Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.
* Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
* Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
* Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidate must:
* Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
* Have 2 years experience working in a similar care environment.
* Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Have a positive attitude to both supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
* Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
Qualifications
* You will need an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, along with 2 years' experience working in a similar care environment. Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to be responsive and flexible are also required.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Please note this role will require:
* A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
