At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as the Project Infrastructure Lead in our Mission Systems department.
The role
As our Project Infrastructure Lead, you’ll oversee the successful progression and completion of Dreadnought Strategic Weapon System Training Infrastructure. Embedded in the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), based at Trident Training Facility, you’ll work with key stakeholders to ensure operational readiness of training facilities, track progress, manage risks, and coordinate with UK and US government agencies and contractors.
* Be the main point of contact for Dreadnought SW training infrastructure.
* Define, cost, and manage training infrastructure and materials tasks.
* Monitor procurement, construction, and commissioning of training facilities and report to stakeholders.
* Identify and mitigate risks with the team.
* Support the wider communities, including the Mission Systems team on Dreadnought CMC Training matters.
Essential experience
You should be an excellent communicator, motivated, and able to drive issues to completion. We are looking for:
* Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with project management tools, policies, controls, lifecycle, schedules, and risks.
* Experience with submarine/maritime in-service support.
* Knowledge of Submarine Weapon Systems and platform systems (Vanguard and/or Dreadnought). Experience with Strategic Weapon Support Systems is highly desirable.
The role is full-time, based in HMNB Clyde, with hybrid working options and occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
Qualifications
* A Higher National Diploma, Higher National Certificate, or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in engineering or project management.
* Actively working towards membership with a professional engineering or project management body.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Many positions are subject to security and Trade Control restrictions, which may be influenced by nationality, citizenship, or residency.
