Company & Requirement Our client is a specialist geotechnical and geo-environmental business that provides consultancy and contractor services across multiple sectors throughout the UK and further afield. The company gets heavily involved in working for well known PLC’s and many other organisations on ground investigation reports, geotechnical design and reports, earthworks designs and slope stability assessments. Due to continued growth and expansion plans in the North-West, the company is looking to recruit an experienced geo-technical professional into their new Warrington office as an Associate Director. Key Responsibilities Supporting junior staff undertaking geotechnical and related geoenvironmental projects including the production of high-quality interpretive reports. Design of geotechnical site investigation works and projects. Technical review of geotechnical and related geoenvironmental reports and associated documents. Mentoring and training junior staff Project director/lead for larger complex sites providing geotechnical and related geo-environmental technical and project management support to junior staff. This will include a range of sites in different settings including large and complex developments. Manage projects to meet both commercial and technical requirements and working with technical and projects leads to deliver appropriate solutions. Effectively communicating with clients (both external and within the wider the group) and colleagues to build strong working relationships with the aim of meeting and exceeding client expectations, and contributing to a strong team ethic. Stewardship of health, safety and environment in accordance with company standards and contribute to sustainability goals. Supporting business development through managing the preparation of tenders. Essential Knowledge Understanding of UK geology and geotechnical engineering / soil mechanics principles Display interest and experience of ground investigation and laboratory testing techniques and familiarity with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes Geotechnical design of foundations and earthworks, and the preparation of geotechnical reports Experience of slope stability assessment and remediation techniques, including the use of applicable modelling software Ability to provide clear concise advice to clients, review documents and mentor other staff Essential Skills Practical experience in designing, supervising and managing ground investigations for geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental assessments on a wide range of sites Ability to technical and commercially review geotechnical reports produced by junior members of the team Comfortable with multi-disciplinary projects Client-driven with the ability to motivate and engage with immediate colleagues and those across the wider business Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Essential Experience Experienced in project management in a geotechnical engineering consultancy or specialist geotechnical contracting environment Proven experience of preparing tenders and fee proposals Essential Qualifications Bachelor or master’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline Full UK driving license
