SEMH science teacher – Bolton – September start
A qualified teacher of Science / Science Teacher (MPS or UPS) is required at an alternative provision that caters for SEMH students from September. This provision is looking to recruit a Teacher of Science / Science Teacher who has recently taught in either a PRU/ Alternative Provision/ SEN School (SEMH) OR Mainstream School (with a lot of students with behavioural difficulties). Class sizes are smaller than an average mainstream school, which helps you to build a strong rapport quickly with your students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
Teaching & Behavioural support staff are welcoming, supportive and dedicated in all aspects of this SEN School. Students who attend been diagnosed with SEMH & Behavioural difficulties, all of which have Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
You will have strong SEN experience (SEMH/EBD/ challenging Behaviour) and preferably experience with teaching students with EHCPs. You will have a strong STEM background as a Science Teacher. Must be able to plan, teach and deliver fun, creative and engaging lessons to your pupils! Marking work regularly providing feedback to students!

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject.
Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B. Ed, QTS, etc) in science
Excellent SEN teaching experience; ie CAMHS/ ODD/ SEMH /ADHD/ ASD and or Behaviour Difficulties
Strong STEM background teaching science and good experience teaching the UK curriculum at KS3 & KS4.
Your teaching experience; either an SEN School / PRU/ Alternative Provision or Mainstream School
to de-escalate behaviour, resilient, fun and engaging and able to build a strong rapport with young people & have a great sense of humour.
Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)
Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
