The Role
We’re looking for a new Assistant Director Adult Social Care who will work closely with the Director of Adults (DASS) and colleagues across the Health and Social Care System. You will continue to develop and embed integrated neighbourhood working, a whole system approach to prevention and supporting people to live well at home for longer.
Ongoing priorities for Adult Social Care include:
* Delivering effective & efficient integrated health and social care across Tameside
* Strengthening the focus on wellbeing, including greater focus on prevention, early intervention and population health
* Continuing to redress the balance of care to move it closer to home where possible
* Supporting the closure of the health inequalities gap within Tameside
* Harnessing the breakthrough opportunities of digital technology for enhancing existing services to give better outcomes to residents and improved value for money
* Improve Social Care Outcomes through ambitious Commissioning Strategies which enables people to live more independent healthier lives longer.
* Shaping the way we commission to deliver sustainable high quality adult social care services supporting people to live well at home.
About You
You’ll need to show you can drive ongoing service improvement with challenging oversight, under pressure and putting our residents first. We want calm leadership, constancy of purpose, resilience, robustness, drive and excellent people and partnership skills. You will have extensive leadership experience at senior management level, and in depth understanding of local authority adult social care. We’ll focus more on your skills, experience and capacity to lead a clear, but demanding agenda within a highly political environment.
